Abyss
More than a dimension in itself, the Abyss is the state of nonexistence of other dimensions. It has been given various names, including Void and Emptiness. In every civilization, people are taught to fear the darkness, for it harbors mysterious and extremely dangerous forces. Such uneasiness in the face of shadows is more than justified. After all, everything that exists is destined to be devoured by the dark — that is the Abyss . This fate, however, wasn't determined by deities, but by the necessity of reality. In fact, one of the fundamental rules of existence is:
Everything that exists must cease to. Everything transforms, nothing remains static.
Because of its destructive nature, the Abyss is the primary threat to both Chaos (Dreamverse) and Order (Material World). However, the Abyss is also an uncontrolled force that, if left unchecked, would prevent existence from growing and expanding.
The Three Aeons Rule is the only constraint on the Abyss. Contrary to popular belief, the Abyss is uninhabited. No life exists within it. Every abyssal creature that crosses paths in the Material World or the Dreamverse is, in fact, a different manifestation of the Abyss. This is the inevitable result of the collision between nonexistence and existence. Since absolute nonexistence is an impossibility, every time a portion of the Abyss interacts with one of the two opposing dimensions, a form of existence takes shape. This is why there are Nightmares in the Dreamverse and Corrupted in the Material World.
